The House Library # January
Three Women by Lisa Taddeo
I wanted to start the year with a story about women — real women, with real longings and contradictions. When I picked up Three Women, I realised two of my friends were already halfway through it. It felt like a sign, almost magnetic, pulling me toward a book I was meant to explore. The story dives into desire, vulnerability, and the quiet emotional worlds we don’t often speak about out loud.
January is such an introspective month, a time when we naturally turn inward, and Three Women meets that mood perfectly — raw, personal, and deeply thought-provoking. That’s why I wanted to include it in this month’s edit.
You will be transported, but you may not always enjoy the journey. You might recognise pieces of yourself in each woman’s story, and in doing so, you’ll find yourself examining your own feelings, memories, and the stories you carry. And maybe that’s the point — to begin the year with honesty, curiosity, and a little bit of courage.
If you join this month’s read, let me know - I love hearing from you, and your reflections add so much colour to this little community.
